From a recent release from Autismvotes.org May 5th, 2010), S.262 was amended and passed this week by the House Health Care Committee. Instead of going directly to working group for summer study, the legislation now will require health insurers subject to Vermont law to cover evidence-based, medically necessary autism treatments for children ages 18 months-6 years of age. The legislation also requires that a study be completed regarding people with ASD who are older than 6. This study is required to be completed by the end of the year.
