8:30-12:30: Julie Weiss, MSEd, BCBA, LBA and Director of Vocational Services a The New England Center for Children will discuss the transition from school to adulthood, including workplace and community inclusion as it relates to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, caregivers and employers. Julie will review the development of a vision, assessment of a learner's strengths and preferences for work, and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. Evidence-based strategies, components of career education, and vocational training development will be discussed. 4 CEUs.
12:30-1:30: Catered Lunch
1:30-4:30: Megan Mayo, MA BCBA, LBA and doctoral candidate at Antioch New England University in clinical psychology will share the results of the Vermont ABA Workforce Survey and lead an interactive discussion about potential new directions for the practice of ABA in Vermont. Megan will also explore and demonstrate applications of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) within behavior analytic work with experiential activities involving the ACT Matrix and the Prosocial ARC process. 3 CEUs.
